  1. Day 1 Airport – Leh (By Air) (11562 i.e. 3524 mts ) 5 – 6 km.(30 minutes Drive Approx)

    Welcome to Ladakh, a land like no other, extending from the glacier to the main Great Himalayas. Your adventure begins with your arrival at Leh Airport, the capital, and largest town of Ladakh. The Ashoka Adventure team will greet you at the airport, drive you to the hotel for check-in, offer a welcome drink, and recommend complete relaxation for the rest of the day. It’s set aside to allow you to settle in and rest before we start exploring the stunning landscape and roads tomorrow. By afternoon, our supported team leader will meet you at the hotel and brief you about the trip.

  2. Day 2 Alchi, Likir Sightseeing (11562 i.e.3524mts) 65km (5 to 6 hrs including Sightseeing)

    After breakfast, embark on a visit to Alchi and Likir monasteries. Along the way, you can also explore Magnetic Hill and Sangam View, where the Indus and Zanskar Rivers meet. Drive back to Leh for an overnight stay.

  3. Day 3 Leh to Kargil, via Mulbekh & Lamayuru, Kargil (11562i.e.3524mts) 234kms(7-8 hrs approx.)

    After breakfast at the hotel, drive towards Leh, enroute visit Magnetic Hill, Sangam, etc. Proceed further towards Lamayuru Monastery, passing through Namkila & Fotu La Passes, the highest pass on the Srinagar – Leh road. Then drive to Kargil and check in at the hotel.

  4. Day 4 Kargil to Padum (3670mts) 230kms (7-0 hrs approx.)

    After breakfast, proceed towards Zanskar, crossing Suru Valley at an elevation of more than 3,600 m over the Zanskar range. You’ll witness the magnificent Nun and Kun Peak, twin peaks standing above 7,000m, separating Zanskar from the Suru valley. The journey offers an enchanting view of the surrounding landscape. As you approach Rangdum, the valley gets broader, surrounded by green and lush meadows.

    You will cross over the Pentze La Pass at 4,200 meters. At the top of the pass, two springs of greenish water are credited by legend to be the birthplace of the progenitors of the famous Zanskar breed of ponies. After the snow melts in summer, various forms of vegetation emerge around the pass, including many species with medicinal value. The area is also home to marmots, which move to lower elevations in winter, and the brown bear can be found on the slopes of the Penzella Pass.

    Glaciers on both sides of the pass feed streams into either the Suru or the Zanskar catchment. The Penzella glacier, the source of the Suru River, is situated on one of the flanks of this pass. You’ll encounter shepherds with their domestic animals and yaks, providing opportunities for photography. The journey passes by many villages on the way to Padum in Zanskar.

  5. Day 5 Padum to karsha, Dorjayzong (3700mts) 30 kms (4 hrs approx)

    After breakfast, drive to Karsha Monastery, founded in the 10th century by Phagspa Sherab and now under the control of the younger brother of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. It is the largest Gelukpa monastery in Zanskar. The monastery offers beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. Close to the monastery, there is another wonderful nunnery to visit, Dorjayzong Nunnery, located about 15 km from Karsha. The nunnery, founded about 700 years ago by Master Sherab Zangpo, is renowned as the Bodhisattva from the upper region of Tibet. Later, return to Padum.

  6. Day 6 Padum to Zangla and Stonday monastery (3670m) 35 kms (5-0, hrs approx.)

    After breakfast, drive 35 km along the Zanskar River to Zangla. Explore the old palace of the Zangla king and visit the Zangla Nunnery. Afterward, drive back to the second-largest Gelugpa monastery in the Zanskar Valley.

  7. Day 7 Padum to Ulley tokpo ( 3048 mts) 230 kms (7 -8 hrs approx.)

    After breakfast, drive to Ullay Tokpo. This adventurous journey from Padum to Ullay Tokpo via Lingshed will take you through Photoksar village and Wanla, crossing two to three high-altitude passes. Along the way, you’ll encounter the famous trekking old routes of Zanskar to Lamayuru trek. Reach Ulley Tokpo village and stay overnight.

  8. Day 8 Ulley tokpo to Leh (3250mts) (72 Km 2hrs Approx)

    After breakfast, drive to Basgo village. The Basgo Monastery, also known as Basgo Gonpa Monastery, is situated on top of the hill, towering over the ruins of the ancient town. It is noted for its Buddha statue and murals. Later, drive back to the hotel in Leh, and in the evening, explore the local markets of Leh Ladakh. Stay overnight in Leh.

  9. Day 9 Leh- Shey,Thiksey, Hemis (11562 i.e. 3524) 90kms (5-6 hrs one way approx.)

    After breakfast, visit the monasteries of Shey, Thiksey, and Hemis:

    • Shey: The ancient capital of Ladakh, where the king continued to regard it as their real home. Shey, with its enormous number of chortens, reflects its importance in Ladakh’s heartland.
    • Thiksey: One of the largest and most impressive Gompas, featuring several temples with images, stupas, and exquisite wall paintings. It houses a two-storied statue of Buddha.
    • Hemis: Dedicated to Padmasambhava, Hemis offers a unique experience with lamas parading in solemn dance and mime. It was founded in the 1630s and is the largest and richest of the Ladakh Gompas, nestled into the mountainside.

  10. Day 10 Leh to Nubra (10,000 i.e. 3250mts) 125Km.(4-5hrs one way Approx)

    After breakfast at the hotel, drive towards Nubra Valley via Khardungla Pass (18,350 feet). Travel by road through Horzey and Gangles Valley. Upon reaching Nubra Valley, proceed to Disket, the headquarters town of Nubra Valley. Drive 30 km to reach Khalsar Bridge and visit Disket Monastery. Continue the drive from Disket to Hunder, where you may encounter Double-Humped, Hairy, and Bactrian Camels.

  11. Day 11 Nubra to Turtuk (10,000 i.e. 3250mts) 125Km.(4-5hrs one way Approx)

    After breakfast at the hotel, drive to Turtuk Village, a picturesque hamlet in the Nubra tehsil of the Leh Ladakh district. Turtuk, situated along the shores of the Shyok River, is a hidden gem flanked by Nubra on one side and Baltistan on the other. The village is surrounded by apricot plantations, and Turtuk boasts a colorful history. Later, return to Hunder for an overnight stay in Nubra.

  12. Day 12 Nubra to Pangong (10,000 i.e. 4000mts) 125km

    After breakfast, drive towards Pangong Lake through the scenic Shayok Valley. Pangong Lake, shared by India (25%) and China (75%), is renowned as the world’s highest saltwater lake. Enjoy the breathtaking beauty of the lake while appreciating its ever-changing colors at this high-altitude destination.

  13. Day 13 Pangong to Leh (14270 ft i.e.4350 mts) 195 kms (5-6 hrs one way)

    After breakfast, take a stroll around Pangong Lake, the highest saltwater lake in the world, shared by India (25%) and China (75%). Appreciate the beauty of the lake while enjoying the changing colors of this fascinating high-altitude destination.

  14. Day 14 leh to Airport 5-6 kms( 30 minutes approx.)

    After breakfast, transfer from Leh to the airport to catch a flight for your onward destination, carrying sweet holiday memories.
